What types of treatment are we used?

We use a wide range of therapeutic modalities, exercises, assistive devices and patient education methods to help you.

We use both cryotherapy and heat therapy to treat pain swelling.

There is evidence that electrical stimulation has the ability to cut down on pain. There are mainly three types of electric devices we use to treat pain and swelling. They include:

  • TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) – uses low voltage electrical current to provide pain relief. Electrical impulses may help block pain receptors from being sent from your nerves to your brain.
  • IFT (Interferential Therapy) – Electrotherapy treatment that uses electric current to stimulate tissue which provide pain relief, reduction of swelling and many other health benefits.
  • Therapeutic ultrasound – It provide deep heating to soft tissue to increase blood circulation to those tissues, promote healing and decrease pain.

Traction takes pressure off compressed nerve. It is conducted with traction machine or with therapist hands, and is helpful in radiating and refereed pain.

We creates an exercise plan that will include Extension, strengthening and mobility exercises.

Hands on techniques by our physiotherapist on your muscles, ligaments and fascia. This is done to break adhesion to optimize your muscle function, reduce pain and decrease muscle tension.

Like soft Tissue manipulation it is a manual technique to reduce pain and increase joint flexibility.

We use laser therapy to boost muscle performance, reduce muscle fatigue and enable muscle repair after injury.

We also use this technique to reduce pain. With this technique, we inserts a thin needle into a specifically targeted muscle with a trigger point usually one that is source of tension or pain.

Taping provide support, reduce pain and inflammation, decompress trigger points, boost circulation and improve flexibility.
